It is important to remember that when
an alcoholic or addict is deep in his/her addiction, they have turned
their back on GOD. A Faith Based Alcohol Drug Treatment Program
will help the alcoholic or addict turn back around to face GOD again.
Once an Alcoholic or Addict accepts
the fact that they are powerless over alcohol and their lives have
become unmanageable, they can start to understand that they replaced
their true higher power with Alcohol or Drugs. That's right, in
their life, an alcoholics or addicts higher power is the Alcohol or
Drug.
Think about that for a second.
Life is a series of choices and consequences. "Normal" un-addicted
people will consider the consequences of their actions before they make
a decision to do something. They think: will it be worth it to do
this? But an alcoholic or addict will not care one bit about the
consequences. All they care about is their drink or drug.
The Alcohol or Drugs become more important to them then simple human
necessities like food and shelter.
Therefore, their higher power has
become the Alcohol or Drug. That is the one thing that means the
most in their life, the one thing they just can't live without.
Now that the Alcoholic or Drug Addict
has recognized that they are powerless over alcohol and their lives have
become unmanageable, they are ready to accept the next step.
They will need to come to believe that
a Power greater than their self can restore them to sanity. This is a
CRUCIAL moment. They need to truly BELIEVE that there is a power
(GOD) greater than them self AND they also need to have FAITH that GOD
will restore their life and make it manageable again.
It is though GOD that all things are
possible, this does not exclude conquering addictions. There is no
limit to what GOD can do, only self imposed limits on our FAITH in him.
It is the Alcoholic or Addict that has turned their back on GOD, GOD
never turned his back on them.

Drug Rehab
- Can God Help You? by Marcus Essex Millions of people
around the world hold their faith very dear to them indeed. In their
faith they find comfort in times of despair, companionship in times of
loneliness, and hope and strength in times of adversity. For the many
people whose lives have become a living hell due to drug addiction,
there may be great comfort and strength to be drawn from the fact that
many drug rehab programs actually involve various faiths in a big way.
Such infamous and long-standing drug rehab support groups as NA
(Narcotics Anonymous) give their 12 steppers a chance to embrace and
draw strength from their chosen faith. This program in particular
doesn’t openly employ any religions connotations but simply encourages
each person to put their faith in whomever or whatever they believe in,
as is commonly said: acknowledgement of a higher power.
There are drug rehab programs which are faith orientated in an open way,
such as dedicated Christian support groups and actual drug rehab clinics
which will discuss the bible, Jesus and have prayer meetings. If you are
of faith, particularly of devout faith then you may wish to check the
internet on a popular search engine and browse the many drug rehab
programs available to you.

Christian
Drug Rehab By Ken Marlborough Faith based
program drug rehab is one
approach to drug rehab that is slightly different from secular drug
rehabilitation. The Christian religion based programs have at their core
the belief that religion plays a critical role in the rehabilitation
process. Therefore, all programs are designed to emphasize the primary
role of religion in the life of the addicted individual.
The study of scripture, religious services, and group discussions may
all play a part of Christian drug rehab. As with other programs that are
specialized funding and sustenance may depend on client payments and
grants. Other aspects of rehab such as medical and psychiatric
evaluations as well as duration of therapy may be similar to secular
rehab programs. Often the treatment is done in an inpatient setting and
may last one month. Drug addictions as well as alcohol abuse are huge
problems for society and their treatment requires committed individuals.
Christian drug rehab has at its root the belief that faith heals and
these programs are spearheaded by volunteers and altruistic individuals.
One Faith based program’s website states that they believe that God provides
wholesome healing and overcomes the destructive power of drug addiction.
These programs recognize Jesus Christ as the Higher Power referred to in
12 step programs. Christian drug rehab aims to rehabilitate the
individual in a comprehensive manner by changing their view of the world
and stressing the primacy of faith in the healing process. The
philosophical basis of Christian drug rehab programs may not be well
known to healthcare providers. It includes the concept that addiction
arises from an attempt to fill a spiritual void through substance use
and recovery through the process of salvation and a sustained
relationship with God.
Christian drug rehab may be a model other religious or faith based
organizations can use to develop drug rehabilitation programs.
